7 things to know before laser hair removal
Everything from sun protection to shaving timing before your session.

Getting the best results from laser hair removal depends on a few small preparations in the weeks before your session. Go over the points below before your first appointment.
1. Stay out of the sun and tanning beds
For two weeks before your session, try not to expose the treatment area to the sun or tanning beds. Tanned skin is more sensitive to laser energy.
2. Do not wax or tweeze
The laser targets the pigment at the root of the hair. Waxing, tweezing or epilators pull the root out, so stop using these methods in the weeks before your session.
3. Shave the day before
Shave the treatment area with a razor about 24 hours before your session. This leaves the root in place while making sure there is no long hair on the surface that could cause burns.
4. Tell us about any medications and creams you use
If you take medication that can increase sensitivity to light, or use skincare products containing acids, be sure to mention it at your consultation.
5. Arrive with clean, product-free skin
On the day of your session, do not apply deodorant, perfume, cream or makeup to the treatment area.
6. Stick to your session intervals
Because hair grows in different phases, more than one session is needed. Following the intervals your specialist recommends directly affects your results.
7. Do not skip aftercare
- Avoid hot showers, saunas and intense exercise for a few days.
- Use a high-SPF sunscreen when you go out in the sun.
- If there is redness, do not scratch the area; soothe it with a moisturizer.
Feel free to ask any questions at your consultation; we will create the session plan that suits you together.
